Louis Hanzlik (trumpet-2002) is a trumpeter in New York City where he is active as an orchestral and chamber musician. He is a member of the Atlantic Brass Quintet, Riverside Symphony, the Iris Chamber Orchestra of Germantown, Tennessee, and performs regularly with the Orchestra of St. Lukes and Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. Recent performances have included concerts at Caramoor, Spoleto-Italy Festival, Edinburgh Festival, Tanglewood, Cape May Music Festival, and the New England Bach Festival.
Mr. Hanzlik is an active soloist and has been featured on concerts and recitals in Japan, the United Kingdom, France, and throughout the United States. Mr. Hanzlik also plays Renaissance and Baroque period instruments and his affinity with authentic performance has led to frequent invitations to perform the natural trumpet and cornetto.
Mr. Hanzlik is on the faculty of the French-American Conservatory of Music and is a graduate of the University of Iowa and the Juilliard School.
