- keep the embouchure setting the same
as and 8ve higher on the C#
- leave space after the double dotted
quarter note
- make sure the 16ths (which is actually
a 32nd in cut time) long, accented, and full in sound
- take care that the last 16th is the
same length as the others
- swells must be gradual and even (not
sudden)
- Don't unseat the embouchure during
rests-breathe through the nose
- practice at controlled volume (add
loudness as the last item)
- accenting does not mean move
- 8th notes should be long
- slur veloce passage to center pitch
- play directly on pitch center
- triplets must have forward motion to
the downbeat
- make sure the 8th note triplet
(ascending C# triad ) notes are as long as possible
